We live in one of the most beautiful suburbs of Cape Town and there is very little the Marina does not offer.
However, during June 2006 Marina Da Gama was suddenly thrown into controversy when the Association decided to change their constitution to implement an area-wide security scheme.
The changes to the constitution gave the Association unprecedented powers, including the power to charge monthly levies. In addition, the limitation to members’ liability for claims of the association was taken away, placing huge financial risks on individual home-owners.
Two factions emerged, those supporting the security plan, and those who, although not necessarily against security, (after all, we all want to protect our homes and property) were vehemently against the changes to the constitution.
Thus far, we have not had a forum in which we, the individuals, could raise our opinion freely and uncensored. This web-site will allow anyone to say what they want, regardless of what faction you wish to associate yourself with.
Read it, feel free to comment, and enjoy!
