Cathy, now fondly known as Lamb Chop, has today applied for a Restraining Order against ExCom Member of the Marina Da Gama Association and Chairman of the San Marina Recreational Club, Mr. Leon Lee, for the threats he has made against her and others on this website (see San Marina residents take a stand). […]

JT said: WHOOOOOAAAAA STOP THE LORRY!! I am so excited. Lordy, Leon, I owe you an apology of note. You’re right your title says you own the Club!! This could be huge. Bigger than huge. This means that some title deeds say member and some say owner. Vrek but that’s weird!
Everybody check your title deeds […]

There are residents in the San Marina area who heard a knock on their door one morning – it was the sheriff of the court with papers to attach their few household belongings.
This was all thanks to Leon Lee. Did this spineless weasel ever think a little further than his arrogant self? Just maybe these […]

It would appear as if Hunting Season is open in San Marina. In a bold statement, the Chairman of the San Marina Recreational Club, Mr. Leon Lee, has stated “… but let it be known to all that if you make this personal I will hunt you down and take you out of your misery […]

My name is Cathy. I live in San Marina.
San Marina Recreational Club has been made probably the most unpopular club in the world due to the bullying dictator of a chairman. For the last couple of months, we have been going around San Marina to collect signatures from members in order to close […]

Wathint’ Abafazi Wathint’ Imbokodo. You strike a woman, you strike a rock.
It is clear that the male dominated ExCom has not taken this statement to heart and continue to ignore the fact that they have struck quite a few women in Marina Da Gama. Women who do not mind to stand up and […]

One would think that our local Councillor would try to do something about the state of our roads in this area. Seeing that he is in the ideal position to report the multitude of potholes in our roads, one would have thought he would at least report those he has to dodge on the […]

When will the Marina Da Gama Association ever learn that they too have to follow the rules? We all know that, if we want to put up posters advertising an event, we have to do so with the permission of the City of Cape Town. The Marina Da Gama Association however feel that they have […]

I have been contacted by several people who have received a letter of demand from ex-ExCom member, Mr. Alan Hepple’s firm, Magnum Credit Consultants, demanding payment of arrear subscriptions supposedly due to the Marina da Gama Association. I don’t know how many of you actually received such a letter, but ExCom admitted that more […]

Mugabe gets “elected” by default because no-one is prepared to stand against him.
No rules or law applies to him.
His opponents get crushed through character assassination (or worse).
He allows his lieutenants and followers to grab land which does not belong to them.
Sound familiar?
Marina Da Gama now has it’s own little land-grabs too. Public open […]

The Association has a new official website. Yes, they have finally reached the 21st century! But what’s this … no constitution? Are they ashamed of their own constitution? And their building regulations? I would think that this would be the first thing that an association would put on their OFFICIAL website. Again I ask […]

I attended today’s mediation session and wish to thank everybody who attended - especially the SAHRC representatives who afforded us this opportunity when there are so very many other pressing issues at this time.
A bouquet, too, to the MDGA representatives, Peter Harrison, Peter Joubert and Bob Craske for making the effort - and […]

It’s official!! On 25 June 2008 residents of Marina da Gama will face the Executive Committee of the Marina da Gama Association around the table at the South African Human Rights Commission, despite ExCom trying their level best to get out from under the meeting. At first, the letter got “lost in the […]

The Writer of Annoying Little Letters, telling you what you already know is wrong with your house, while his own looks like the back of a bus. The standards inspector( alias Estate Manager) Jan DA Grotta has unfortunately not grown a backbone to reply to many issues raised on this website. Apparently emails seem to […]

Q: What’s bold and sticks out like a sore finger?
A: An brightly coloured house in Marina da Gama!!
And to think that the guilty party is actually family of an Executive Committee member!! As far as I remember, this particular Committee Member bleated something about “following due procedure” and “proposing a change to the colour scheme […]

Xenophobia has affected everyone in South Africa and the announcement in yesterday’s People’s Post that Zandvlei Caravan Park was being prepared as a refugee camp for displaced foreigners brought the reality of the situation a little closer to home. For various obvious reasons, Zanvlei is not the most ideal of sites for this purpose; […]
